An introduction by the owner of this blog

My name is Gabor, I live in Hamburg, Germany. I was born in 1989 in Budapest, Hungary.

I am a clinician-scientist by day, a doctor focusing on medical research. I work in pediatrics and I am interested in the relationship between the immune system, infections and the liver.

I am an amateur server owner and open source software enthusiast by night.

I am married to Ilona, a PhD in human immunology working as a bioinformatician.

We are the proud owners of two thai cats and more recently a rescue dog (spanish podenco) - see ilonagabor.de for more on that.

I like Mozart, the Kings of Leon, Star Trek (but not so much the new stuff) and Friends.

My biggest hero is Edward Snowden.

I think the biggest issue of our time is social inequality followed by climate change.
